burning the ac dump tube

Hey, I have searched all over and found tid-bits of info on this just want some solid reliable info. This new DP I installed on the STi is smack up against the ac condensation drain tube. I got on it hard today for the first time and some smoke started coming through the vents and it was pretty damn stinky. I'm sure it's because of the DP burning this tube. Can I just cut this thing off?? Do I have to move it somehow?? Going on a long trip tomorrow in the car and I dont want to smell burning nastiness the whole time.

There's a small shelf the you can bend it up onto. Turn the tube so it faces outward on the passenger's side and rest it on the shelf. Mine hasn't moved in a half a year.

i just cut mine so there is about a half an inch sticking out.

Thanks, I just put it on the little shelf thing, water pools in there, but its not a big deal. Just got back from the trip with no stinkyness. Thanks for the heads up. To all of you who might read this, you want to do this before hand because most DP's smash up against this rubber tube and can hot-box your car with nastiness!!!
