Unhappy Boost Loss. from 12lbs to 6?

Ok everyone I need some help here. I have a 2002 WRX and I have a weird problem. when I forst got my car in July of 07 I was pushing 12LBS stronger then ever. A few months later I noticed the boost dropped to 6lbs with a CEL. I would reset the battery and It would be fine... Now lately Its pushing 6lbs with NO CEL. and If I really get on it like through first and second gear, the boost drops to 3lbs with NO CEL. I reset the battery and Im back at 6lbs of boost.... I have no CEL anymore but all I get is 6lbs of boost and then after driving for awhile it drops to 3lbs. All I have is a turbo XS replica BOV. I tried adjusting th BOV to hard and then tried soft but no matter where I set it I cannot get back to 12 lbs. The weird thing Is I dont have no CEL at all? Can anyone help me out..

the CEL might still be stored on your PCM. Take it to an auto parts store and ahve them check for codes; it's free...
The only thing i can think of is if your car is driving fine under vacuum and boost (3-6 psi) and idling normal it might be your boost control solenoid. Otherwise, i am not sure...
Good luck.

I kind of had the same problem up until a couple days ago. Check the hose going from the intake manifold to the intercooler....make sure its on the whole way around and that the clamps are tight. I was leaking 6 psi from mine because it wasnt on right.

Maybe. I had a new exedy clutch installed and they had to remove the intercooler to get to the tranny mount. do I need to pull off the intercooler and start over making sure its all tight, or can I reach all the necessary hoses?

I think he means the connections between the intercooler and the throttle body... You can check around it with your hand.
Also, you mentioned the clutch work was done, was it recently?

Yes I had the clutch installed like a month ago. But the problem started way before that, like in august. Also last night I removed my short ram intake and installed my stock intake and Im back at 9lbs which is better then 6lbs... but its still not right, Im suppose to have 12-13lbs.

Also check the hose from the W/G Sol to the Actuator. from there, it should T to the turbo AR, and one to the manifold side, check them too.

Heat has an affect over a period of time on these and also the pipe leading to the tmic, check for cracks.

Me thinks it could be due to the W/G not holding your boost though, the gate is open and it makes the turbo sound pretty Loud. or you got a leak from the AR to the tmic, also can make it loud but itll sound more like a loud hiss.
