Best Mechanic

I've had my wrx for a few months and have the following list of issues:

rod knock?
oil leak getting on exhaust, head gaskets?
turbo boost pulsing above 4000 rpms
power steering hard to turn sometimes
hard to get into gear sometimes
wheel vibration at speeds over 60mph
leak in hatch area

I have about 4 months left on the warranty and I want to get the car running as well as possible before the warranty expires. I've been going to the same mechanic for 16 years and they have always done good work for me. I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and take my wrx to the nearest dealership to try to get some of these issues resolved?

Also there are only two dealerships in my area, how do I go about figuring out which one has a better service department?

If you have a warranty I'm not sure why you've let it come this far to begin with. Are you modded at all?

Sorry, let me give a little history.

Bought the car 9/24/12 from a used car lot in NJ. 67,000 miles, clean carfax, came with a 6 month warranty. Took a while for me to get all the paperwork so I could get it inspected, passed PA inspection with no issues.

The car is completely stock, I want to start throwing some parts at it, but really want to get it running right before I start modding.

Take it back to them for the work. That's what the warranty is for. Good luck

It is a third party warranty, so I can get it worked on just about anywhere. I guess I am just talking myself into taking it to a dealership, hoping that they will have more experience with wrx's.

I guess my real question is if I have two dealerships to choose from how do I figure out which one has the best service department?

Look on nasioc for reviews. Or ask around in your area.

Couldn't find anything really helpful on nasioc. I guess I will just call the dealerships and try to determine which one I want to roll the dice on.
