so im wondering what this is...is this a problem with that little pill thing? im a newb in the area and wish to be educated

im running a buschur racing TBE, with a Cobb AP Stage II 93 Octance, and an RFL

I think he means:

spiking to 20 psi, then back down to 5psi, then back up to normal... sounds like a combination of boost creep with boost spike?

Which means ECU/MBC is not able to respond quick enough (boost spike)
Or too much pressure from wastegate (boost creep)

Weird your fuel cut should hit at about 19.5 psi. I'd email Cobb and see what they say.

I noticed under a WOT today that I spiked at 1.4bar (20psi), then it dropped down just under 1 bar, then peaked at 1.2bar (17.5psi) dropped again, went back to 1.2, dropped again, then peaked at 1.0bar(14.7psi), dropped barely, and held there. But by then, I was already past 5.5krpm. I have a TBE exhaust, no engine management.

I was told that adjusting the wastegate would fix it, but I'm just going to wait for EM and tune it out.

i got my car back from the subaru dealer today. they said the problem i had was moisture in the spark plugs. your problem may be different but you should look into this if you havent figured it out yet.

they said to fix it either get new plugs or drive like hell to dry up the plugs. i chose to drive like hell =) and it has made a noticable difference lol.

mine went away but its still boosting somewhat funny...i cleaned out the waste gate and i think it helped

i've heard of the TDO4L wastegate sticking so it boost too much and then tries to hard to compensate and then boosts to much again...so i think the only way to fix it is

A) get a huge turbo (well just a new one!)

B) Get a new wastegate

C) Clean out the wastegate and pray

Huge/new turbo - not exactly.
New wastegate actuator - maybe.
Cleaning it like you said - can't see where it would hurt, but I'm still skeptical that the problem lies there. I'm thinking either a port job for creep and / or a new actuator.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...
