2007 STI smoking

Hey guys I just picked up an 07 sti with 19,000 on it. had it for a few days it started fine every time with no smoke at all. One nite on a cold start it smoked huge white clouds all over the parking lot couldnt even see the car dude then after 10 seconds it went away. but it was crazy amounts of smoke. it just pop an engine code so ima take it in to the dealer for a check up. i was wondering if any of you may have some sort a idea what it maybe. Oh and it runs fine and hasnt smoked on a start before that night or after.

What color was the smoke and what did it smell like? Do you or are there any mods one the car at all? Get back to us with the code as it will help greatly also.

I bought the car from a VW dealership so I had to go to a Subie dealer for warranty, I find out that my car was throwing misfire in cylinder 2 codes. they do a compression check and number 2 was down alittle. So they say that the piston landing is cracked maybe but it is consuming way more oil than normal. Subaru says that the car has definetly been tampered with before ### the wastgate soleniod harness wass tampered with and the turbo heat shielding is missing. so they wont warranty it for neglect and modifications. So now i gotta GO AND GET vw to pay subaru for the labor. they are saying its gonna be a very expensive job rebuilding the motor just the tear down is like $4000 thats not with parts.

#2? It's usually 3 or 4. That's pretty bad... only 19k. Well, on the bright side it can be driven for a while as is until you make other arangements. I babied mine for at least a few months. I did the whole build myself for around $2000, so that is always an option. And I don't have a clue... The biggest job I'd done before this was changing my oil. I'll be posting a complete parts list in the next couple weeks for guys like you to go shopping on, if you want to try it yourself.

Also, could you try fixing the stuff they said was "tampered with" and taking it to another dealer? 19k is just rediculous for them not to cover...

Wow thats really crappy to have that problem on a low mileage motor. I hope that every thing works out. Keep us posted on how it goes and best of luck with it.

Doesn't surprise me a bit, 07s stock fuel maps are shit to begin with. Let alone the thing was tampered with. But, glad to hear at least VW is going to cover their ass and pay subaru to fix it. Hope, she runs like a champ when you get her back.
