02 WRX not start intermittently

Hello,

Over the past week or so I've expeirenced issues with my WRX starting. When I go to start the car I push in the clutch, turn the key and it doesn't even try to turn over. It's like I am trying to start the car without pushing the clutch in. I'll keep trying to start it several times and eventually it will start up perfectly, no hesitation or trouble idling.

About a week ago I would say this would happen about once every 5 starts or so, now it's happening everytime. If I turn the key into the start position and continually push the clutch in, it will eventually start which makes me believe it's something with the switch on the clutch that prevents the car from starting without the clutch being pushed in..

Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think it's a battery problem because when it does try to start, it starts up without a problems.

It's completely stock I haven't had any problems with it up to this point.

I really apprecaite any advice or input.

Thanks,

Jason

There is a switch that detects when the clutch is depressed, and that allows the key to activate the starter. That could be the cluprit.

Do you know where abouts the switch is at? Is it something I can access by looking under the dash or do I have to start taking dash components out to get to it?

I think the connection on the switch was loose or something because I tightened it and I haven't had the problem since.

Thanks for your help,

Jason

A bad battery is a possibility too.

EDIT: sorry, posted before I read the whole thing
