How many here have been on a road course?

Which course(s), and how many times have you been out? How did you like it? Planning on going out this year?

Personally, I've run my car at Buttonwillow (CA), Thunderhill (CA), Pueblo (CO), and have driven on Laguna Seca (CA), Infineon/Sears Point (CA). I plan on going out to Pueblo and La Junta a few times this year.

We have a pretty crappy road course here in Spokane. I've run it a dozen or so times. here is a pic of it. It's drag strip and road course, far from spectacular but it's close to me. You can get cookin down that straightaway.

Looks like a fast course. I don't like drag strip/road course combos, but hey, we can't be choosers can we? What are the lap times like on that course? Does SCCA or NASA run time trials there?

I ran this track 2/3 times

And the go kart track! 43 seconds per lap...lol was fun

The times I've been there we were just practicing and screwing around untimed. I did the BMW driving school in the STI a few weeks ago, that was a blast. You get a professional driver with you and teaches you how to race. I got to run around with this guy next to me.

In my WRX? None. Nor do i plan too. In other cars, err, hum. Lets see here.

Laguna Seca
Road America
Mont Tremblant
VIR (Virginia Interntional Raceway)
a bunch of configurations of California Speedway in Fontana
Infinion
Grattan Raceway
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Curse
Putnam Park Road Course

some are just a few laps. But RA and Seca, shit, i have more laps around those then i can count.

All fun though.

I've run these:
Toronto Motorsports,
Shannonville
Mont trremblant
Mosport

All in Ontario Canada except for tremblant. that's in Quebec.

How do you get to drive on these racetracks? I've had my WRX for about 30,000 miles and everyday I seem to drive a little faster on the street. I know I shouldn't, so I need to figure out how to get on a track to satisfy my desire to drive fast. I've seen opportunities for autocross, but that isn't exactly fast. I know it is challenging and takes skill and everything, but it just doesn't seem like as much fun as a real track. General information is appreciated but if anyone knows specifically when and where I can get on a track somewhere in or near Connecticut, that would be fantastic.

Thanks
Mark

You should be able to run at Lime Rock if you hook up with one of the BMW club days. Check out the SCCA site for more info and or the Lime Rock site

Check the Racing Organization links - specifically, NASA.
