Hitting the track tomorrow !

I'm taking the wagon out to High Plains Raceway tomorrow for a half day of open lapping I've never done one of their open track days, but have heard they are conducted safely. The track is an absolute blast to drive, lots of elevation change, a variety of turns, and with my crappy tires I'll get sideways a lot Any of you Colo. guys should call in sick to work and come out to play.

The wagon performed flawlessly. New lateral link and transfer case work was a success. Unfortunately my buddy had catastrophic engine failure in his '09 STI though Despite that we had fun, as always !

I'll be at Pikes Peak International Raceway with NASA next weekend

They just held the Global Rally Cross there about 2-3 weeks ago.

Oil was a milkshake, and we pulled what looked like pieces of ring out of the pan with a magnet. My guess is a ringland failed and took the turbo with it.

Yeah, just watched it. I hope they cleaned up all the dirt. It would be kind of fun to run that course, but the Porsches and Vettes and such probably won't like it !

How modified was the guys 09 STI? Just wondering.

Yeah, the actual event was 2-3 weeks ago and ESPN just aired it this saturday. It was a entertaining event and I liked how Higgins got 2nd place through attrition. @ Tanner Foust and Michael Jernberg. ( I think I spelt his last name right. )

Stage two, header, DP, pro-tuned, oil catch cans, lots of suspension goodness. Nothing extreme motor-wise. I might get the chance to help tear it down. I'm interested to see what happened exactly. I don't think it's going to be pretty Though he may revert to stock and go to the dealer for warranty. Only has 29K on it.

That makes no sense, especially with him being protuned. Wait...the VF48s do make a good amount of power though with the dual avcs. Do you know what kind of numbers he was putting down? He might've even been near my whp. Which would make sense as to why the ringlands would fail. Normally 350-400whp is definatly a good spot to put some better pistons and rings in the shortblock.

thehubster is an unknown
I wish i lived close enough to a track where i could do this. I want to run on a road coarse but there are just none around here. The closest is Texas motorspeedway and they dont have very many open track days.
