Evo's test drive

I text drive the evo rs today. It kind of worst than what I expect, The tire is yokohama advan. 235/45/17. In the slow turn the car do have understeer at the turn in, so I use more trail brake on the second time when I approach the same turn, in the middle of the turn, I do feel the front lsd keep the car in the inside but the tourqe is kind of making the car power under. May be I am not use to that car but the exit is 47mph, mine stock wrx is about 45. I feel the Evo has a bad body roll even worst than the wrx. In a mid speed turn I was driving about 60mph in the middle of the turn with even throttle, I dont know is that a computer system or lsd, I felt like some system is kind of kick in and make the car turn more, kind of like having some oversteer. In another turn I was fully throttle in abit before the apex and the car was understeer suddenly, May be because the tourque came out too strong and fast, but I wasnt expect that car was going to under in that monent. But anyway Evo is faster than the wrx, but is not that easy to drive that to the limit.

that's the typical evo rag. It is better than an STi, if you're a professional driver. The rest of us will find it much easier to get our best out of the STi. Suspension and power band are both more forgiving.

yeah I could break the Evo loose around corners way easier than in my stock suspension WRX Wagon... The slight turbo lag combined with the difficult cornering can really make things bad doing extremely sharp turns because I would decelerate before the turn then at the apex I would start to accelerate again, then just after the apex the car would double in Horsepower when the turbo spooled (which broke the wheels loose). Even gentle turns felt more dangerous in the Evo, but I am sure that given time I could become better at driving it and a lot of that would go away... Driver error

i would agree. couple pro driver friends of mine have all said the same thing. they all prefer the evo over the sti.

mainly due to the insaine understeer the wrx's get.

I dont have a chance to test drive the sti yet, But the car and driver did say the evo is better contral than sti when you driving at the limit. But I think the evo will take me a couple of times to learn its rag, if I want to fire that.

When did your become related to the verb is, and what is grammer ? Isn't that the dude from Frazier?

He's not a native English speaker, and most of us can understand him just fine. Those of us who are native English speakers (and still struggle), should not criticize, IMO.

Thanks for the driving description, Kawaigng.
