Question Wideband necessary?

I was wondering if a Wideband is necessary, i plan to upgrade my 04 WRX to stage two: cobb AP, TBE, UP, and maybe an intake and i was thinking about upgrading my intercooler to the STI one.(intercooler not very likley)but other than that is it even necessary to get a wideband? i just got a boost gauge for my car and i bought the Bezel gauge cluster...not that it matters but i have an extra spot and i was thinking of what gauge to put and i thought of the A/F R and i knew electronic was no good.. so i considered a wideband. Sorry if im confusing, Help would be appreciated. THANX!

If you're getting it to look pretty, it doesn't matter what the #### it is. If you're getting it to tune, you need a wideband. Doesn't sound like you're actually going to tune with it though so I'd just get something cheap with lots of pretty colors. Maybe one that has a button that whistles at you too, those are fun.

...lots of pretty colors...mmm...
Really, EGT or Oil pressure, or temperature; same color as the boost gauge. It will look good and mean something...

gauges help you tune. If you're not going to tune, they don't tell you very much useful information. If you intend to tune your car, you need a wideband. If not, you really don't need any gauges. Gauges on most cars are strictly show parts.

I agree with were Mosc is trying to point you, he is right. But like b7g said/mentioned those ones will be a little better for safe guarig your engine should something go wrong.
