anyone ever fiddle with the boost gain on the UTEC???
i ask because i am running my stage 4 on the map Cos sent me (dumb, i know... i should fine tune it have a good tune done to my own car, but its just not feasible right now, and i'm not real great with the utec, a little impatient to be testing and then WOT throttle tuning in my area... the cops are after me, i swear)...... but anyways, i'm trying to fine tune it now... the map runs well, except at partial throttle.... it boosts correctly at WOT and the EGT's stay in a safe range under full load, but at partial throttle, say i get on pedal to 40% throttle at 3500-4500 rpm... the boost really spools fast and the EGT's go thru the roof fast.... over 1600 degrees easy if i didn't either back off the gas or hammer it to WOT (the egt's drop back down even when i just hammer to WOT)
question is this.... should i up the boost gain number (thereby decreasing the speed of spool up) or should i tune more fuel at partial throttle points (which is what seems like greek to me after reading the UTEC directions a bunch of times).... obviously adding fuel must work because hitting WOT throttle brings the EGT's down and that's when its dumping lots of fuel... but can't some small adjustment to the boost gain also have a good effect, or is it ok to make 12-15psi on partial throttle as long as enough fuel is get pumped in.... ????
thanks for any advice....
