No, the version 1 AP are not interchangable. I am sure for a few more bucks you can find a used v2 model.

Definitely get a V2, there is alot more functionality. You will pay slightly more, but it is worth it.

As for the AP, no difference. Make sure it is an unmarried AP. As for the maps, yes there is a difference for mt and the at.

You can download the maps directly from Cobb's website.

I have a 4EAT too, but I am almost positive there is no difference in the maps...
Maybe Subbie knows something I don't...

Are V1 accesports the same 3 then? would a V1 accesport work for 02 03 04 05? or are the 02 03 and 04 05 different for V1?

There is really only one version of the V1 AP and it only works with 02-05 WRX. I think there might have been an STi version for the 04-05 STi but it wasn't around long and maybe I'm just remembering wrong.

I'm glad I came across this thread, I was just about to start a new topic. By no means am I trying to thread jack but I do have a few questions related to this subject that might help others, including myself, in similar situations. I'm at work so I haven't been able to completely research the topic. I just came across a deal this morning. I have the opportunity to purchase a slightly used Cobb AP that was used on 2010 WRX STi (ran a stage 2 map) for a very low price. The guy had to turn in his car and needs the money. I have a 2009 WRX, can I use this Cobb AP on my car? I would only be running a stage 1 map since I only have a CBE. I do remember reading that when purchasing used Cobb AP's, to make sure that it's "unmarried". How would I go about doing this? If it is "married", can it be "unmarried"? How? The asking price is a real bargain for a slightly used Cobb AP, even has the original box and all contents and I would hate to let this pass me up. I figured since I don't have much time to research the topic because I'm at work, one of you Subaru experts can help me out and point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

It just has to be uninstalled from the last car. When you flash your car with the AP it will read the VIN of the car and "marries" the AP to that car. The owner/seller should be able to tell you that. If he didnt unmarry it, the AP is (kind of) useless and the car he turned in is "locked" as far as the ECU goes. If it is married you can send it back to Cobb and they can/will unlock it for a price. As far as it working for your car, go to Cobbs website, look up the SUB number for your year and then the SUB number for the one you want to buy, if they are the same number, it will work. You will just have to upload (from Cobbs website) the correct maps for your MY car.

Ok thanks...I just checked the Cobb website and checked the part numbers for both the 2009 WRX Accessport and the 2010 STi Accessport and they both have the same part number (AP-SUB-003). I'm assuming this was the SUB number you referred to? I'll get with the seller and see if he "unmarried" the Accessport from his STi before he turned it in. Thanks again...

Well, went ahead and purchased it and loaded the Stage 1 (93 OCT) map. Feels different, smoother and pulls a little harder in higher revs. I did notice that there were three Stage 1 maps though, one for 91 octane, one for 93 octane and there was another one that read Stage 1 -followed by some letters. Anyone know what this map is?
