TurboXS Tuner (wideband) internal fuse replacement

In an effort to save me some hassle because of my own stupidity and crossing the leads, and also not wanting to pay 5 + 10 shipping on a fuse the size of a tick, I decided to source out a suitable replacement fuse on my own.

All I knew was that their fuses come from Australia where their parts are assembled. The fuse is a ceramic SMD fuse that has a rating of 5A. Used a set of digital calipers to verify the size, etc. Well, I found an acceptable replacement for $0.68ea + $2-3 shipping.

Tested it myself and works. If you don't know how to get to it, you have to remove the allen screws and use a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers to remove and replace the fuse on the circuit board.

Original Fuse

Replacement

Digikey part #: 507-1053-1-ND
Manufacture: Bel Fuse Inc
Manufacture part #: SSQ 5
Current Rating: 5A
Voltage Rating: 125V

And before anyone freaks out, 125v is acceptable. Electrical engineering bull crap.

Digi-Key - 507-1053-1-ND (Bel Fuse Inc - SSQ 5)

If you find this information useful, good luck on the rest of your install.

No, not at all. This isn't for the UTEC though just to reiterate. The Tuner manual isn't very good on top of it. Doesn't talk about this fuse. Only about 2 threads currently exist on the topic alone. I guess most people end up calling TurboXS rather then trying to fix it themselves. Honestly, I'm really surprised. There are two wires for power... light blue and white. Blue is positive, and the only reason I know that is because I had to ask them. Doesn't even say in the manual.
