does the UTEC have anything to automatically back off if it senses detonation is about to occur. I'm scared like a little girl of detonation.

Speed limits don't apply to AWD.

Do you really have to use a laptop to tune the unichip. On the Turbo XS website it says a PC or a PDA. So can't you just bring the chip in the house and use a desktop. Or does the chip need to be pluged in for a powersource from the battery.

The UTEC is end user tunable but it requires a powersource to change the maps if it is not in the car.

The UNICHIP cannot be reprogrammed by the end user, only by TXS or another unichip vendor.

Is there a way you can give the utec a powersource outside of the car. All I want to do is to beable to upload maps from inside the house. I don't own a laptop or a PDA so I will have to do it by desktop. And I don't have a garage to do it in.

Does it keep the info that you uploaded to it when you disconnect the battery. Or do you have to plug it into the car and then disconnect the battery. And thanks for all the help to.

you hook it up, disconnect the utec from the car, load new maps, then reconnect to the car. then you unhook the battery pack. or just get a really long serial cable.......i have done this on occasion!
