Tuners in SE Ga, NE Fla.

My son bought a 05 WRX with some mods. We believe the car needs a tune to optimise it's performance. Any recommendations for this area?

Can you tell its full specification mainly present condition? It will be better if you can post a pic of it here and one pic of engine bay also.

List the mods and how far he's wanting to go with the car.

Tuning does wonders for any car.

List of mods

The car has a Perrin front mount inter-cooler, a turbo back exhaust and some kind of A/M waste gate. The plan so far is to replace the down pipe which is warped, replace a front axle that is clicking, then get a custom tune. The car is currently in shop getting the clutch replaced and the new axle. We're having some fun now! Kids Mom is ready to kill something! Thanks to all.

Great website, Great reviews, wish I could get up there for a real tune, I live in S.FL (Ft. Lauderdale) and looking for a professional tuner down here also....?!

After 8 days, got car back with new clutch and axle. Next day, there was a decent puddle of trans fluid under the car. Took it back to shop and left it. They claim it was over filled with fluid. Corrected level. So far so good, no more leaks!

Did you get the DP replaced ?

scharvey 10-04-2011 11:13 PM

The Down Pipe should be delivered tomorrow. Probably installed Thursday. Junior is a great procrastinator.

Got the car back yesterday. Now we're told that it has probably jumped a tooth on the timing belt. Lordy, are we having fun yet?

Replacing the T-belt stinks, but it's easier than replacing the motor...!Thumbs Up

Knock on wood! So far, it's been a educational experience. Not too expensive either. If we can get all the kinks smoothed out, I think we'll have a nice little car.

^ Did you do the waterpump and all that since you were in there?

scharvey 10-10-2011 09:33 PM

That's part of the plan. We ordered a kit that has a belt, idlers, tensioner and water pump. we'll try to get everything installed next week. It would be due a new belt in a few thousand miles anyway. Fingers crossed that this helps make it run like it should!
