WagonRacer, you are right...

I have a bone stock 2002 wrx that I shipped over to Germany from the states. I have owned this car since day one. I bought it for my girlfriend in the states when I decided I needed it here. I bought her a new STI.

I was driving it home from the port and I was able to get the needle to go into the little display at the bottom of the speedo. The rpm's were about 6,300. I'm guessing it was right about 150 and I thought there was something stopping it from going farther.

Amazingly the car did fine at those speeds, I was doing about 150 for a good 15-20 min. with another Audi and Mercedes.

watch those breaks at that speed. they feel pretty mushy..

As for top speeds I have TBE, Intake, UP, and a BC. I know naughty im changin it.. I hit 140 without a prob.

I also fly airplanes and weight and drag play a huge dif as far as HP is concerend. so for the person saying he is suprised the lancer goes 110 and the WRX goes, we will say an average of 125 to 150. Weight and Drag wise, that is a huge differance. So With that I can bet that the lancer at 110 MPH range is running at low RPM's due to the weight and drag combined with a lack of enough hp to propell it any faster. If that makes sence. And the Sub, pulls through the air with the more HP into the higher RPMs.

hopefully my answer, though long winded, helped more than confuse.

To answer the original question, the AP map notes on Cobb's site state that top speed gets raised to 186 mph.

you run out of gearing before you get to that point. stock gears run out at ~ 150 ish give or take a little.

Here in Texas wee have ALOT of open road. I used my AP v2 and it read I was doing 168 the other day. No traffic, early in the AM. All I have is a COBB DP, the AP and a K&N DIF. They took the speed governor off and raised the max redline a 1/4 or so. Does make a difference in higher speeds.
