OOps. I looked at it again. The "M" in MPH is in the 145-150ish zone. I don't know when the nazi was taken off the WRX but I think it was at the end of the 02 production year.

All right, where is the distributor cap? I need to find the #1 plug wire to hook up my SUN machine.

Even with all my power I run out of gearing in my 02 (without PPG Gearset) at 157.7 according to Pioneer GPS.. This was of course on a closed circuit track on Test and Tune Day..

Top speed isn't about your mods, it's about what you're redline is at in what gear... unless your mods happened to include increasing your redline (and if you have to ask, don't do it).

You can figure it out on gran tourismo. Just match the ratios and see how fast you're going at your redline.

BTW, stock speedo's aren't that accurate at those speeds. 140 is probably like 135 or so. You need GPS like shoaf says or get clocked to be accurate.

True to a point.. In stock (purchased) form my WRX would not surpass 120ish on the same track.. You still need the power to over come drag and weight.. If you don't have the power but all the gearing in the world good luck using your top gear redline.. I understand that if one could assemble enough gears that anything can be done but I'm talking a 5 or 6 speed...

As for "Exact Times".. Sorry it was a test and tune night, I didn't keep the print outs.. I just know that on the back straight with a slight crest with a gradual down ward right that I can hit full out.. I love that stretch...

I hit 110 on my purely stock lancer (not evo), and it felt like I could have gone faster still. I can't believe that with almost +100 hp, the wrx still can't get much higher than that. And the aerodynamics of both cars are pretty similar. Doesn't make sense to me... why is this?

You can also figure speed based on engine rpm and gear ratio

Yeah, I know, but that would require math and video games are much more fun. I've hit over 150 in the 03 and the 06 STi.
