I'm not seasoned like some other on this site, but I'm pretty sure Vista won't be supported. I would definitely stick with windows XP as it has obviously been out much longer and any bugs in the software there are they have had more time to correct. XP all the way.

this will work on vista http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=Downloads

this is your map but you do need to get a u/p or gut yours http://www.xpttuning.com/osecuroms/viewtopic.php?t=71

if you dont the u/p cat could break and send metal and stuff into your turbo

i really didnt feel like taking the up pipe off but guess i have to.. that really makes me angry why sub. would put a cat before the turbo... but yea well.
it wouldnt matter to run the s2 for a while before gutting the car right?

the map says 91 because it is the minimum octane that you can use to prevent knock it would be fine to use 93

is it safe to reflash my car if i dont have a laptop to log with.. i can drag my desktop computer to my garage to flash my car but obviously cant take it with me on the road test lol... so i pretty much need a safe stage 2 map...
full 3 inch tbe.
catless up pipe, with no egt.
k&n filter...
also i wanna run about 16 pounds that safe? i have to adjust the wastegate arm myself tho right? so if someone can get me a direct link to a nice tune i will be very happy!
happy like a hippo!
thanks!!!

I don't think it would be a good idea to use opensource tuning with out having something to log the car.

Even though most new laptops do not come with XP, you can always buy a cheaper laptop and pick up a copy of XP to install on it.

Some manufactures will let you choose if you want Vista or not, just for a quick one, Dell:

i can probably use my buddies lap top. but im just curious on how its not that safe to flash with ou logging. i mean i understand whee your coming from. but whats the difference with one of these maps compared to a cobb stage 2? you dont need to log with them... thanks! and while logging what should i be looking for my a/f. timing/knock?

you should always log because there are subtle differences in every car

log these
Air/Fuel Correction #1 (%)
AF Learning #1 (Current)* (%)
Coolant Temperature (F)
Engine Load* (g/rev)
Engine Speed (rpm)
Feedback Knock Correction* (degrees)
Fine Learning Knock Correction* (degrees)
IAM* (multiplier)
Ignition Timing (degrees)
Injector Duty Cycle (%)
Intake Air Temperature (F)
Manifold Rel. Pressure (Corrected) (psi)
Mass Air Flow (g/s)
Throttle Opening Angle (%)
Vehicle Speed (mph)

yea i know that all are different. i know where your coming from. but its just like any other mail order tune correct? so logging is not needed but def. a wise choice. correct me if im wrong...
thanks for the help so far tho!!! now can you send me a direct link to a stage two map 93 octane tune? also can i just download cobbs map and flash that on my car or wont it work? just curious...
