I assure you that it makes nowhere near the power/torque numbers suggested on any normal dyno. That mod list can't support that.

Where are the suspension and brake mods?

WRX student 09-27-2012 11:44 AM

06-07 wrx 2pot / 4 pot with vented rotors
Stoptech Braided stainless steel lines

and I have a photo of the results, could it be faked somehow?

that vf simply can't provide enough airflow to make those numbers.:o

It was probably on a chassis dyno. 250 to the wheels and 270 on E probably.

Where have you guys been for the last two years?

It's pretty standard for a vf on E85 to make in the 330-350 whp and 350-400 wtq range. Yes his seem high, but 280 on corn, please. I made that on 91 at 4,200.

Hell I've run mine on a few and I always get 330-350 to the wheels at 20.5 psi. He's running 3 psi more boost which really just spikes the torque early so 400ish isn't out of the question.
93: 290 whp / 300 wtq
E85: 330whp / 350-360 wtq

Per your other thread, there are red flags. I would NEVER EVER EVER run a setup like that on the stock suspension. It could never handle it. I see a few areas he cheaped out on as well.

If you get it, do so knowing that stuff will likely break and that that suspension needs dire work.
This is what they generally make. You'd be hard pressed to see anywhere near 400 wtq on any VF turbo on E85 without using a high reading dyno. You see a LOT of newer tuners these days suddenly claiming ridiculous peak torque numbers. You regularly see people thinking they are making 350-400 wtq on pump on STI turbos. I've seen someone posting a dyno sheet showing 500 wtq on a modified 20G, and they were fighting to the death that that was how much that the car was actually making. ROFL

Lets all try to come to a conclusion is the first set-up stated by me, worth 10k dollars? if thats nearly all the money I have to spend, or would it be better spent going another route?

RcrsWetDream 09-28-2012 09:27 AM

Are you listing out what you want to do to your car, or is this something you're looking to buy?

Your user name suggests you are in college and accordingly should be about broke. If you need a reliable car I would look at something that's 100% untouched.

pzr2874 09-28-2012 09:44 AM

Chris,

This is on a 2.0 as well. Not a 2.5

Then this car is not for you. One of the rules of thumb when buying a modified car: don't unless you also have the money to fix it.

Don't be fooled by the price you pay being your cost. A used and modified sports car is pretty much the definition of a money pit and an unreliable piece of daily transportation.

what dyno dude?, 250whp on one can be 330 on another. My friends 06 made 280whp and 320wtq with a vf39 and supporting mods on a very cold day(low 40s ambient air temp) using 92 octane and that is in airboy.

whats even more funny is when you pull up next to them with your 270whp and put a few car lengths on them, but man they have 330whpROFL
