Stock Tune

I know this has probably been asked before, but why is the Stock tune bad?-If that has been asked too many times then just this question> If it so bad/dangerous why is it sold with it?

Also, what are the chances that a stock tune will allow me to hit approx 20 psi at WOT?

It runs way too lean. And the reason is for emissions.

What are you going by that you're reading 20? Cobb ap or boost gauge?

I'm getting from the Torque app connected to an elm327 module in the car. I have a boost gauge, it looks like it goes that high when the turbo first spools up, then backs down to 15-16. Ill try to do a few longer pulls in 3rd/4th gear to get more detail
