I answered in the other thread that you asked in. You will have more power by default due to the higher displacement. Your stock turbo will run out of breath up top.

You need a custom tune
bigger injectors(modded stockers)
bigger turbo
new timing belt
new water pump and oil pump recommended
other assorted items.

I did my hybrid build on 6k but it could be done way chaper if you shop around a bit and find good deals

Just in terms of the ECU, you need to remap it due to the larger displacement.. You can still run the 2.0 ECU with an add on system like Cobb or Enginuity (sp?)..

02 WRX.. "It's fun when it runs.. Problem is that it hardly ever does..."

You can use the EJ20 ECU with the EJ25 short block and EJ20 heads with a reflash no problem..but I have also seen great success with using a reflashed ECU (ECUtek) with the UTEC...but if you are going to go through all that might as well get a standalone unit.

i dont think they will. I would want a custom tune after spending all that money on your motor.

cobb . wrx accessport . map listing

Dom Tuned 2003 WRX Wagon
251.3 WHP
235.8 WTQ

If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing

Just did this on my 02 WRX.
I got a Cobb AP and some maps to get me going from IA performance IA Performance - Automotive Service & Performance Parts - IA Performance ask for Gabe.
Using the map while I'm running in the engine, then will get a custom tune.
