Question Purchasing Cobb Accessport

I just purchased a new 2011 WRX 5-door. I really do not wanna do much just yet engine wise but I am extremely interested on getting the cobb accessport. Only thing I am not so sure of is if I have to purchase a 2011 accessport or can I use an older one like a 2008 or 2010. If I can then I will be able to get one for MUCH less because my friend is selling a 2008 he just isn't sure if I can use it on mine.

Thank You

Look on Cobbs or any other persons website that sells them and look at the SUB number. If its the same for the different years then you can use it. They only thing you would probably have to do is update date the firmware for your year car.

They sell them seperately, but the sub#'s are the same... Call COBB and ask if you can use either... They may not "like" to answer if your question starts out like :

"I'm thinking of buying a new 11' WRX AP.... but my friend has his from an 08... Will the 08 AP work?"

Same sub number then they will work. The firmware or some maps might be different, so they will have to be updated, but thats it.

Yep. AP SUB 003. Just download the firmware and that will also include the maps for your new car. I had to do the same thing when I switched cars. Easy as pie. Buy the used one.

I am anxious to hear your results too. I just picked up the four door sedan STI and was only wanting to add the COBB stage one flash. Enjoy the new ride!
