opensource problem

ok i have been running cobb accessport v2 for quite a while now and a buddy is buying it from me. So i am going to try opensource. I purchased a xpt stage 2 LC map. The problem is when go to open ROM in ecu flash and find the map and hit to open it, it says ecu flash cannot reconize this ROM image using any current definitions. Now first off the laptop is not connected to the car at the moment does it need to be to even open a map to flash it, and if not i have the newest version of ecu flash. Any ideas as to why it wont read it would be appreciated. thanks

You need to move the def that came from xpt in the file as the directions say. c, program files, ecuflash, rommetadata, subaru

Also, you need to tell ecuflash what file to get the files from. Once you get it set up, it will work fine.

Yep put the file that looks like the one below in the area below.

\EcuFlash\Metadata\ Subaru\Impreza WRX

XPTxxxxx.XML

NP, I have been doing this long enough to run into pretty much every problem once. LOL

BTW I am pretty sure you'll find the XPT tune more powerful then the one you ran on the AP.

The defs for romraider are a little different then ecuflash. Under settings you need to tell it where the defs are. You need to load the profile from the XPT package into romraider along with the defs. You don't need to use romraider unless you're going to log. Ecuflash is all you need to flash your ecu. Just make sure to "break in" the map as XPT tells you.

BTW makes sure your using romraider logger and not ecu editor

what are you calling lc? I'm not remembering that abbreviation.

BTW make sure you user level is set as "developer"

OH, launch control. I got it. LOL

Sadly you would likely need to edit the map in romraider edit for that. Can you email me the map packet from xpt so I can look at it and try to help you?

I need to go for a while. Let me know if you still need help. You can always PM Braden at OSecuroms & XPT Tuning •Index page and he will help you when he's back online.
