Odometer Reset???

I am currently replacing the engine in my '07 WRX, and I was wondering if there is a way to get the odometer reset to 0. Or is this looked down upon?

there is no way to do it.. your best bet is to find a used odometer that has lower miles. or u could just keep track every time you fill up. if there was a way to do it im sure there would be a lot of "deadbeats" out there selling a 10+ year old car with only 1000 miles...lol

It was more or less for my personal knowledge, but I just figured that if there was an easy way to do it, I would do it.

It's against federal law. And if you still have any warranty coverage left, it will completely void everything. Only certain companies are legally allowed to fiddle with odometer settings, and whether you send it to them to be reset or get a new gauge cluster you are required to have a sticker in your door well with the mileage difference before and after.

That's the thing though, I am putting in a brand new engine, so I am working with 0 miles...

The closer the better maybe, or keep the one in there and just log it. Your body will be accurate.

Odometers measure how many miles the entire car has gone. Cars with new motors have gone more than zero miles.
