My tuner jumped ship!

what happened to Jorge at p&l motorsports?

Sooner or later I wanna' get a tune but the guy I wanted to tune it left P&L motorsports.

Anybody know of another good tuner within a 2hr drive of Iowa City, IA?

Been hiding under a rock?

Jorge was fired for blowing too many engines over a year ago. They called him Dr. Knock up there. Junior is a better tuner anyways.

Nah, just laid off and unemployed. I got a job and started posting again. So now I have a little jingling money to spend on the car. It's only got 93000mi I think it's still modifiable.

If things go well I'm gonna get mild tried and true bolt-ons and a tune. Ya' think I should go ahead with P&L?

Are you wanting a professional tune or would just a simple STg2 map work for you? What type of EM do you currently have?

If you're still curious what he's been up to, IAG Performance in Westminster, MD flys Jorge in every four weeks for tuning sessions that often last from friday until monday. I've had three tunes (stage 2 w/ additional bolt-ons, 20G w/ stock motor, and 20G w/ built motor) by him now and I have nothing bad to say.

Its really come down to P&L or Cobb Access port. P&L is the only tuner within striking distance of Iowa City. That is, if I stick to bolt-ons. I don't see me getting a COB AP because I'm only gonna' do this once.

The plan is, Pay back my brother 400$ for getting my bumper fixed.(wadda' guy!!!) Payback 100$ to the joint account for the Ziebart touch-up. Then...

Invidia downpipe W/divorced wastgate (not sure about cat-less or not)
Uppie (brand undecided, durability priority one)
Turbo XS intercooler
Walbro fuel pump (If needed?)
Borla hush 3" twin-tip cat-back
Blouch improved stock turbo
and a few other things

Then a 3hr 45min 218mi drive (very carefully and out of boost) to P&L Motorsports.I'm told this can be done without out hurting anything. (If this is false let me know!)

What do you guys think of this plan?

I really want to know as much as I can. I don't want this to blow up!
This whole prosess will take well over a year so, I have plenty of time to consider all options.

Are you against e-tuning? Lots of reputable folks out there that can tune you without being in front of you. Cheaper too. Reputable shops could also send you a "limp" map to get you where you need to be safely for a dyno tune.

A limp map... That's A great idea!!! That would really set my mind at ease. That's a long trip without a tune with that many mods.

Understand, all my info is up to 10 yrs old. I've been out of the loop since 07 when I insulted a vendor on WRXModders. So info like that is unknown to me.

No problem. Every now and again I post something useful, that's why they keep me around
