I Love My Car Even More Now!

Just uploaded XPT stage 2 and boosting around 16.8 psi. I've never been through first gear that quick! Thanks for the help in all the good advice and my rhetorical questions. I opted not to add the launch controller and my clutch and tranny thanked me.

how come launch control is an option with xpt but not with the fricken acessport.. jeez, you would think 700 bucks would buy it all.

^^You are right, its only an option for the cars that have the 2.5l engine. 04+ STI and 06+ WRX.

Hmm...

2.5 L engine = more torque = LC maps

2.0 L engine = less torque = no LC maps

I think Cobb might be secretly trying to destroy our drivetrain components.

and they say its something with the electronic throttle control vs. the cable throttle control.. but if it can happen with an OS tune, then Cobb should be able to figure it out.

LC isn't a end all, be all. So, why is this such a big deal?

It sort of makes me sad to hear so many people talk about launching their WRX when it has a stock transmission. Best of luck to all of you. I really hope nothing breaks.

I decided to not add LC because my clutch slips a little if I get on it out of 1st and it's about time to replace the timing belt and don't want to add clutch to that list. I know I would abuse it if I had it...I'm so happy with stage 2 right now and hope I don't get tired of it. My WRX is faster than any Z28 or Trans AM I've EVER OWNED! This morning a mid 90's Mustang Cobra was itching to get a red light next to me and finally did at a double HWY entrance ramp and I was shocked that we were dead even upon entering the HWY! Does that count as my cardio workout for the day???

this is probably one of the main reasons i got an awd car, to not have to worry about grip when i launch. yes, it can do damage, but with a stock clutch and some skill, im not risking it too much. honestly, i can say
times i've gone offroad in the wrx...maybe 1,
times i've autox...0
times i've launched... 100+
