Ej207

2004 wrx ej205 to ej207
Hi all, im new and just wanted some opinions/ideas for my new engine.

My 04 wrx engine just died (combo of negative temp days, wrong oil maybe, improper upgrading by previous owner..) anyway, that shenanigans aside- i decided to go the ej207 route instead of finding another ej205 oem.

The day the engine arrived, the shop informed me that this engine came with a twin scroll turbo. They asked if i want to go ahead with the instal and recommended a tomioka TS usdm fit downpipe and a catless bell mouth downpipe. They also want to do an open source dyno tune instead of the Cobb accessport route.

Also a 76mm invidia q300 catback system
-- aem cold air intake
-- gates timing belt
-- they said a new uppipe is not needed

Any thoughts here, are these suggestions inline with what you guys have done?

Thanks in advance!

Im in Pa, usa by the way

Who is your tuner? I'd think you'd need a new UP to fit the twin scroll....but, if they can make it work. Then cool. !Thumbs Up
