cobb didnt work??

so i met a guy today to purchase a cobb and when i tried programming it, it would let me select a tune but then wouldnt start actually tunning just said there was some sort of error after and told me to try turning car off and turning key on again and after a few tries still nothing. I was wondering if this means it is not unmarried from his car? he said he had unmarried it a while ago. Obviously i didnt buy it because it didnt work but just wondering what that could mean? Hes giving me a pretty sweet deal on it so just wanted to see if its a common problem or what would cause it so i could try and work it out and get it. also could i send it to cobb or something to have it cleared?? just wondering because if i can get it cheap enough it might be worth it. Thanks sorry about the life story lol

Did you have the test connectors under the dash connected?

Two little green plugs under the steering column that need to be connected to put the car into test mode to let the AP flash.

Where you asked to marry it to the ECU the very 1st time you plugged it in? It should have taken 10-20 minutes.

If its not unmarried, you can send it to Cobb to have it cleared/unmarried, but it does cost a few dollars to have it done. You can call/email them and ask them about it also.

Sounds like its married to a car still. AP will only work with one car at a time. Contact Cobb like Josh said.

Good luck man.

People: "Keith why did you choose open source over the AP?"
Me: "I like the ability to use it on different cars."
People: "Pffft the AP is better plus you can change maps quicker."
Me: "You sure can, but then again I now have an extra $500 to spend on gas.. "

As i said stupid good deal i got him down to $180, then i was going to trade him a double din and less money then that. Also i dont think he actually knew it was still married to the car he drove a good half hour to 45 min to meet me somewhere i was already by and then he tried installing it for me.... im pretty sure he wouldnt of gone through all that if it he knew it didnt work. but im pretty open tuning honestly probably not gunna do it for a while but the deal was to good to pass up if it would of worked
