I really dont care about money. So what is the easiest way to flash stage maps on your ecu I am newbie to tunning so I want to make it easy on me. Sorry if repost couldn't find any thing on at.
tactrix is pretty easy to use I have an 07 also just make sure you connect the green connectors under your dash to put the car in diagnostic mode while you are flashing. the gains you will see from stage one R29 flash are incredible. It is a free map also. the cablr cost me like 82 dollars after shipping and i got it in 3 days vrs 600-700 for the ap.
Cool thanks for the responses so you downloaded the software onto your laptops and plug it in to the car. saved the map thats on the ecu. than upload a stage 1 map from one of the sites from Pinuse's sticky?? I am just tring to clarify so I know I can do it.
you pretty much have it down. here's the gist of it:
1. download/install ecuflash
2. download stage 1 map
3. plug in test connectors and tactrix cable
4. pull your stock rom
5. write stage 1 map to rom
6. make sure you let it finish and if it fails don't disconnect or put the key to off
7. enjoy.

I do have one more question does the car have to be fully running when i DO THIS and all accessories have to be off such as radio....radar detector...etc??

I have an 07 as well and am saving up for the Cobb AP (my first mod). This is the first I've heard of Tactrix. I'll do some more research on it but can you answer this question please?
Is this dramatic difference in cost a matter of convenience? As in... COBB is more user friendly and you can revert to stock map for dealer visits?
I'm pretty computer literate and am decent with vehicles. Jeez... I guess what I'm getting at is what are the pro's/con's of COBB AP and Tactrix. Cost obviously being one. lol.
no do not start your car and yes turn off all accessories putting it in diagnostic mode puts draw on the battery do not turn your key to the off position til it is complete it will fry the ecu
yes they both are dramatic differences in driveablity, hp,tq make sure you do your homework so you are comfortable

Tactrix was as user friendly as you can get. Cable goes from laptop to ECU. Flash as many times as you need. If you didn't back up the stock map, they are available for free at osecuroms.org.
