the purpose of a catalytic converter is to change carbon monoxide (smog) into carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) (mostly, I'm simplifying on purpose). They're on there to reduce smog, not to save the planet. The CO2 is probably worse for the planet than the CO was, it just won't give you cancer.

Trees and green plants use carbon dioxide for energy, so the more trees the less green house gases, so if you pull your cats, plant a tree or two.

well, the trees are needed if you USE a cat to remove the CO2. Removing cats would give you permission to cut down trees I guess if you're looking at it that way... If you don't use a cat you should, uh, do something that removes smog (wtf would that be anyway?). Yeah, not as funny.

I think when Jerry Garcia died they all moved up to WA state... wait , I toured with the Grateful Dead for 2 years straight for the whole tour east to west coast on a school bus filled with about 20-25 dreadlocked, pachouli stinking hippies , so i guess that makes me a hippie to.

Always good for a laugh Mike. It just seems there are alot of different types of people in the state, just depends on the area. But I sure miss it.
