To improve on the worlds best selling and easiest to use Subaru Re-flashing tool, COBB went to the drawing board and developed this Version of the accessport to offer all the functions of the V2 tool with improved speed, navigation and appearance.

COBB wishes for more people to install this in their vehicles and use it on a daily basis to improve community knowledge and confidence in the world of tuning and performance analysis. (In basic terms they want everybody to feel confident and have the knowledge and tools that they need to have a great running Subaru!). The new menu structure includes easy to read helpful hints including full test map descriptions, help menus and tips and tricks which can guide any experience level user through uploading performance maps and monitoring the performance of their vehicles for the best results.

The New Larger High Definition Display (3x larger than the V2) is capable of displaying 6 virtual "Gauges" and data logging in real time. The display is vibrant and durable (Tested to withstand 160 degree temperatures). There is an On board ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness for ease of use. For those that like customization the V3 Accessport will ship with interchangeable face plates currently offered in Blue and Silver (COBB has mentioned that more colors may follow).

Mechanically COBB has "Future proofed" the V3 Accessport by making sure that the internal hardware is "Overspec'd". With the current software the Hardware is capable of flashing speeds 50 times faster than the V2 with 4 times more storage space. Multiple mounting solutions will be possible as the included mount uses a standard "Akron T-Connector" pattern. Pass-through flashing is also supported with the standard USB input on the side of the device.

OTS V2 maps are completely compatible with the V3 Device and custom maps can also be used (The file format for the new device is the same).

COBB has been developing and testing this product for the past 2 years to ensure this part is easy to use and reliable. They still plan to offer the V2 Accessport for those who are not in need of the new features.

Overall we are Psyched on this new device and know that many of you are as well! We look forward to seeing all the great ways that people will inevitably use this tool!

Please post up your thoughts or questions about this Awesome new device.

-Cheers! !Thumbs Up

These vendors are leaving out the part that you don't qualify for the trade-in program if you buy thru anyone but Cobb directly! Buying from Cobb is the only way you will get the 325 credit!!!

which sucks,bc when i bought my cobb i found it brand new for $100 less than the msrp.
really dont know if the extra features are worth the trade imo. i could use the extra $350 for a pair of good gauges. the only thing i hate about the cobb is the fact that it doesn't remember where you were at last so every time i go to re-plug the unit back had to go back and select what i want to see. ya it sounds like im being lazy but damn for $600 i want it to sing to me lol.

Actually COBB changed the release date to 7/23 (Tuesday). The units have been built and should be shipping from COBB as we speak.

The V3 is meant to replace your current tuner and a set of gauges as an "All in one" solution.

Also, according to COBB it does have the ability to save your gauge layouts so you can easily recall your preferred gauge setup.

The V2 is still supported for those that only want basic functionality. People that appreciate having extra monitor data and data logging capabilities at all times will enjoy all the new V3 features.

Did I mention it also has a shift light? :D

With all due respect to the kind of ODB-II port accessories, there's a limit to the data the AP can gather because the car itself is not gathering it to send on to the AP.

Also, I would love to integrate the ODB-II and cobb map switching functionality into a 2-din navi head unit.

That would be pretty slick. :D I'm sure some people will come up with some really creative installations. Who knows, maybe someday COBB will offer something like this directly. Although they did mention that they worked pretty hard to "Future Proof" this hardware and make it fast enough and capable so a new version wouldn't be necessary for a long time to come.

Did you have any particular "PIDS" in mind mosc?
