Question Check Engine Light??

I Installed A New Short Ram And It Was Going Great Until I Raced A Crossfire V6 (i Destroyed Him By Like 6-7 Carlengths) After The Check Engine Light Turned On. I Stopped The Car And Popped The Hood. The Filter Was Not Secured And Came Off. I Tighted The Filter And Now Its Running Great. But.....i Still Have The Check Engine Light On. How Can I Take That Light Off.??????????

disconnect battery, pump brakes and reconnect it. if it doesn't go away go to auto zone and they will diagnose the CEL.

Pull code for CEL- if that's your only mod, it may be coming from the MAF

I vote you do both of these things. Pull the code, and if it your MAF, make sure everything is secure and reset the ECU.

Glad it worked bro. The ECU will sometimes get set on a setting if there is too much/not enough of something, and it just needs a good reset.

This is also true for fuel maps. Our cars require at least 91 octane, but it says that sub premium can be substituted for a short time. This will put the ECU into a safe mode that will not actually switch back to the premium map on its own. It requires this reset. Sooooo, moral of the story is if you take a road trip it might be a good idea to reset the ECU when you get back to the gas your car is accustomed to.
