cheapest way to tune 03 wrx

I have a 03 wrx im looking for the cheapest way to put a tune on it nothing crazy just like a stage 1 tune is there tuning software that u can download and i know i need a cable.

Google opensource. Just download some software and buy the cable and you can flash your car. Theres a write up here in the Tuning section that is written well also.

To further his Josh's answer- the cable you'll need the a Tactrix cable (around $170), stage one map (XPT for example) should be around $90.

You could always download a program a program and do it yourself (think it's RomRaider) but you'll still need to get the cable somehow. Either way if you want to make your car go faster I'll go ahead and say it YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY.

It is kind of true about paying to play. But I believe that there are some free base maps either through the opensource forum or RomRaider. Cheap and modifying a car (the good and proper way) dont really go together.

WTRacing is more helpful than not
if you go to xpt's forum OSecuroms & XPT Tuning •Index page you will be able to find a free stage 1 map there thats where i got my start in tuning there are alot of people on that site willing to help
