Cels and the AP

HI all, Its the time of the year to pass inspection again and I have some questions about the ap and its code clearing abilities. Earlier today i updated my ap manager and firmware then cleared the codes using my AP...there were several exhaust related codes. Anyways After driving about 50 miles the cel came back on with the same codes i just cleared. How long is the ap suppose to clear the codes for? Anybody know what I should do to keep it off?

From the reading I have done its supposed to elminate the codes completely. By chance what were the codes for?

when you reflash your ecu the code that was disabled should not come back.
