Question can u add a cbe after reflashing to stage 1?

well im new to the forum and tuning world. i bought a v2 ap for my 07 sti and flashed it last month. does anyone know if adding a cbe + k&n drop in air filter would effect anything after reflash? well if its not safe to do so i guess i would have to run stage 2 with a tbe later on.

No it will not affect anything, its safe to do. CBE does nothing for your car except sound. You should return your CBE and get a DP and flash stage 2.

BBE does more then just sound. it can free up 10whp in some instances and since the 08s pipping is so small, a cbe will deffinately help free up some exhaust flow. obviously a turbo back with stage 2 is better but that doesnt mean a cbe is only for sound. its dyno proven that even a stock downpipe with after market cbe can gain hp

oh and it will be ok to run stage1 with an aftermarket cbe...that much is true

p.s im not sure how big the 07s exhaust is but that will be the determining factor on whether or not a cbe will free up hp. either way it will help

all stock except for CBE

Show me the money clown...as in show me a dyno graph where a cbe made more than 5 hp on a wrx. The above link is asking the same question you asked. Read the reply from MOSC, he is the all knowing subuy guru on this site. Your reflashing to stage one did way more than your cbe will do. Your ears will play jokes on you. When I put cbe on my car I noticed NO difference. And welcome to the site. Utilize the search engine before you post a thread and most likley your answer will be allready waiting for you. Z

you guys are arguing because you're talking about two different cars. The 08 has a craptastic cat back which is indeed pretty restrictive. The 02-07 on the other hand have 2.25" of fairly straight piping which is adequate for stock turbo setups. In other words, you're both right but you're both talking about different cars. However, the original poster has an 07 so confusing him about 08 stuff is not helping much twentyclowns.

To make it clear: 07 STi with a CBE is cobb STAGE 1!! and it'll work fine.

Oh, and I am the great recycler of info here maybe, but not a guru. Listen to Dumdum or nosenugget if you want some more technical stuff. I can and do, however, respond to the same questions over and over again more than they can stand to.

From what I've gathered from wrxtuners.com

dumdum = technical guru of everything
Nosenuggets = guru of handling, race info, vehicle dynamics, suspension, braking, etc.
Nagyhead = Technical mastermind
Mosc = Ability to retain valuable information and relay it to others on a CONSISTENT basis.

Is that close?

if big sky is ever on, he knows more about racing than anybody else here. Cosmo's the site guru really be he hasn't been on since he sold his 03 almost 2 years ago. 90+% of what I say is repeating him.

Also, gary's (LiL Shoaf) the only one around here who's done extensive internal mods that I know of. I guess Jave as well, another good resource.

There's a few dozen others that I wish were still on more like IBAUCLAPlaya and some of the old mods...

i havent looked for dyno results or anything but obviously a CBE does more then sound. no matter what it is going to help, even if only a little, especially if its catless or not resonated. some cars will gain 10 hp from it, key word being some......i never said all. i just said in some instances 10 hp can be gained.

MOD: Maybe you should learn to express yourself a little nicer. Objectionable content removed.

WRXKidid775 is more helpful than not
your arguing against a point that has proven results man...

The CBE may help a *tiny* bit but Hp for the dollar is ridiculously bad.

02 rex is gone.
I defected to an evo :)
Evo is gone :(
Now I got nothing.
