boost controller/solenoid

g'day. I am looing at installing a manual boost controller into my 04 wrx impreza and was wondering if I just leave the boost solenoid line off as there are only 2 barbs on the controller and 3 hoses 1 from wastegate going to turbo, and the other is going to solenoid. I am runnigr ihi vf 34 turbo, twin scroll compressor wheel, evhaust wheels, sti 500cc injectors, big exhaust, tuned length manifold, flash tune ecu, forged pistons and 14pis at the moment and want to run 16.y constantly.. And another thing, dose atmospheric temperature affect boost levels(density os air) as my boost in day is around 9 - pnd and at night it is 14??, cheers, only had wrx for 2 weeks, before I raced mazda rotary engines for 15yrs...
:D

why are you wanting to run a MBC?

Not a stock BCS I take it.

Just wanted to fiddle, I figured it out and ran 15psi and car was making good power gain, but delivery was violent compared to a smooth delivery so I reverted back to normal. I put valve in glovebox for a drag one day or to destroy that Commodore wanker ( Pontiac gto in USA) . So yes good increase but better ways to do it just more expensive. Mbc is cheapmans hp. Effective but not efficient for street use, race no worries, might differ on you car but that's how mine ran Cheers. Burbe on

The car uses a much more sophisticated method of boost control. Even putting on an MBC and setting it to stock power levels would be a problem. In addition to a much more simplistic (read: inferior) system, the worst thing is the ECU still thinks it has full control of the wastegate to regulate boost as it makes subtle changes in fuel and timing. Raising the boost with an MBC goes further down the path of moronic.

There is no reason to use an MBC on these cars. The ECU is a boost controller which can also reduce maximum boost in partial throttle conditions, warm-up conditions, problem conditions, etc.

Take. It. Off.

PTFB is a big issue with an MBC

What are you using to tune with?

Work great, no overheat, no wiring overheat, gee some people shit on hey, I've read 30+ posts on not to do this but I can't see a prob, tried, tested and passes, 100w xenon globes 6000k racing globes from honkkong $6 each.

My opinion varries from others.
Three things I would never ever do to my WRXs.
1- BOV to atmosphere
2- HID in an incorrect lens
3- Crazy Stance way out of offset spec, personally I'd myself go +3? And deal with the consequences.

But the BOV causes the car to run rich and run like poo.
The HID if not meant for your headlight lens will get too hot and possibly cause a fire. Plus it's an asshole move to the other drivers on the road because that light in there face is blinding and unsafe.
The stance will eat through tires and and hub assemblies.

But bro, HIDs help you c at nit better and stance is legit.
