Thumbs down 2008 wrx engine replacment

Hello all we are going to have to rebuild my sisters wrx its a 2008 5 speed its lock up im pretty sure she spun a rod bearing or bent a rod one of the 2. My question is can you buy like production subaru engine to bolt right in? we got the experience to rebuild it how much you think it would cost?? just dont relly have the time is there any other good options to go with then? Also any tips you can give me id be more than help full we did just put a new clutch in this car 2 months ago hah.

How can you say "we can rebuild it" when it's not even apart? Can't calculate cost without having it apart.

Yes, you can find blocks new from the dealer or online. Same for used.

A new OEM block will run just north of $2,000. But without knowing what's wrong you won't know if there is any additional head damage or what else might need to be replaced.

Yea tearing into it tommorow will keep you guys posted is it possible to have jumped time and valves are into the piston? just a thought but there no noticeable teeth missing on the timing belt
