06 Boost pressure

I was wondering how many pounds of boost the 2.5 liter turbo in the 06 WRX puts out in 3rd and 4th gears. I know that 1st and 2nd have reduced boost. I have heard that the 2.0 puts out 14 pounds of boost stock and was just curious how the 06 compares. All I know is it feels pretty strong.

2.0L's put out about 13.5psi. I am not sure, but I think the '06 put out less boost. My reasoning is because they have an extra .5L of displacement to get the extra 3HP, so the the boost shouldn't have to be so high. Makes sense in my head.

I got mine on a dyno on sat. and my peak boost hit 12.5 psi. Two days earlier I had installed a autometer boost gauge and saw 14 - 14.5 psi but that was drivin' it pretty hard!

Id believe the dyno over a meter.

Im not sure about the 06. Im sure its either the same or less boost. They only have 3hp more. And another .5l displacment should give more than that alone. Id guess boost would be around 12.5.

Theres alot more then 3hps in these new 06s. If you have done your research and seen the dyno sheets it alot more then 3hp. Subaru puts such a low hp rating on it on purpose. They do this for insurance reasons. If you do the math the 06' is at 185whp according to this....... http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showth...6&highlight=06 . With 30% loss between the wheels and the crank the 2006 wrx should really be rated 265hp.

I got my 06 pro tuned. IF....IF i remember right I was putting out 226 at the wheels. Now this was with a TBE. After pro tune a CAI and stage 2 AP map. I hit 242awhp and 308tq. Now the 1st run was with stock boost at 12.2 or so PSI. STOCK 12.2 was the boost. Now we turned it up a notch to 17 PSI She moves now

First I've heard of this

This was a concern in the 60's and early 70's when the insurance companies were denying coverage and jacking rates on muscle cars. But I've never heard of this since then. I could believe they overrated the 2.0 liter's numbers. Taking numbers down would be odd since the 265 is still below what the Japanese used to limit the hp to. I didn't see Subaru listed, but that's what several of the Japanese makers have been accused of doing (what's the "claimed" hp on the Toyota Celica again? ). Bigger hp numbers sell cars. I doubt they care what our insurance bills are, unless they got to the point that sales were being affected.

Just so you know, an 06 is supposed to boost at 11.6PSI stock while the 02-04 boosts at 13.5 stock. Different boost amounts may be reached due to atmospheric conditions, altitude and what not of a +/- .5PSI, or so I have been told.
