yeah buddie

for all you who said haha. recently i blew my trans first and second. two days a go i finished rebuilding it new gears an synchros. with the trans book and a little time i was abel to rebilid and reassembl in about three nights. so i say give it a shot do it yerself and see whut happens. worst thing you need a new gear set but you might save your seltf some time and money. i spent about 1500 bucks plus beer and i got it done. good luck

Aren't there a couple of special alignment tools you need? What did you do for those?

I also did mine myself.. I had no issues other then the rear locking nut on the OutPut shaft worked lose.. Thus my gears walked and broke 3rd just cruising down a country at low speed.. Shame really, it was holding up so well. Just hope you really torqued that mother....

thanks yeah my alignment tools were my eyes and a beer. and i finnaly used my 300 dollar mac torque wrench. but i had fun and thats whut its about right
