wrx tranny problems out of box

talking to a tech at a custom transmission shop. i was trying to see what possibilities there are with the wrx 5 speed. tech said he really won't touch them as they have a known issue out of box, he really didn't explain it. so if there is a known problem with them....what is it? or is it just another lazy bastard who doesn't want to do the work?

They aren't the best.... Do a search on them on ANY forum....

ANY AWD vehicle will not break loose from the wheels as easy as a FWD/RWR car.... therfor, more stress is on the drivetrain.... Kinda like a woman
