Contact andrewtech automotive...ask about legacy 5 speed gearset for your car. It will cost around the same as a used stock transmission, and be stronger.

if your on a budget then i would go with www.venus-auto.com and get a jdm sti 5 speed. Those are much stronger and can take some abuse.. they import everything from japan and shit even australia. They will come with 25k-50k but i have never had any issues or heard of any with them and ive already baught 2 skyline clips countless sr20 blocks and a couple silivia 5 speeds. Thats what im going with for my subie why i start upgrading it..and btw it has a month warrenty so thats when you can really give it all it has!

Google it, it will/should take you to his website. He is pretty much the subie guru, especially for trannies. Hes on the east coast somewhere, cant remember where.

Is located in Maryland. Go to products and hit PPG. Helicle cut gears are quieter than straight cut. Straight are a little bit stronger, but not by much. Straight cut look like spures, where as helicle are curved. A lot of people say that straight cut gears sound like your driving is reverse, because they whine. Helicles do not whine nearly as loud. One popular combo is 1-2 straight and 3-4helicle(you keep your 5th gear). It just depends on what you want. Oh, one more thing, the gears cost about $4,300

Over on nasioc some one was talking about coming out with a gear that will compete aginst PPG, but there not out yet. And they are going to cost between 2,600 and 3,400

Wow gears that competer with PPG and are half the price? That would be nice as long as they are of the some quality and same strength.
