Weird Popping noise

Hey guys I've had my clutch changed for about 3 monthes now and lately I'm hearing a loud popping noise when shift every once in a while...Has this happened to any one else? Anyone have any Ideals as to what it could be?I can't make it happen to try and reproduce it and It happens at random times and in random gears. Thanks for any help.....Lil Shoaf got any ideas?

I've noticed this noise as well, more frequently of late, within the last few weeks. I'm almost positive the noise is coming from behind the car (or at least behind the driver's seat). It almost sounds like a backfire, but I didn't know these cars backfired unless there was a serious problem.

Big Jay by looking at your mods it apears that you are running catless. If that is the casethen the popping is a result of unspent gases burning off. In essence a backfire. Mine does this from time to time due to a rich situation. Which in your case may be caused by your BOV when you shift. Otherwise does the car run fine?

Big Jae, no I have the stock exhaust right now. I'm changing over to the catless exhaust this weekend(finally got an uppipe.) It feels and sounds more like the clutch cable could be binding up somewhere. I'll look at it this weekend to since I'll be switching the exhaust and putting cobbing bushings in the shifter. but its definitely in the front. As I stated before it is something that happens very rarely. Is there any way the the chutch cable can bind up?Thanks for moving this Ian...Thanks to everyone for their advice.

There no Clutch cable, the clutch peddle arm goes through the fire wall into the master cylinder then there is a hose to the slave cylinder on the transmission.. No Actually cables to bind.. At-least not on my 02..
