Hey i have a 2002 wrx and my transmission fluid is low and i dont know whats already in there can i just add another type or what please let me know i dont want to add something and it gets messed up thanks
alrguith how many qurts do i think i would need and do i just pour it in the dip stick slot becuase i dont see no other slot to put it in and also to drain it its like the oil i just unsrcrew it and wait till it drains?
Yep, it's a torx screw on the bottom of the trans case. I know my 5 speed takes 3.8 quarts, not sure on the 02 5-speed though. Just fill it through the dipstick tube.
All 02+ WRX 5 speed transmissions should hold the same amount of fluid = 3.8 quarts. The torx bit needed to remove the transmission fluid drain bolt on newer models is a T-70. Look into the Andrewtech cocktail if you want a really good fluid. I also used Redline 75W-90 NS with good results. My car shifted like butter every time I put fresh fluid in the trans regardless of the type.
any 75/90 or 80/90 is gonna be the same really. just make sure its synthetic. i use penzoil 75w90 syn in mine just cause thats what i carry in my shop and ive never had a problem with my tranny or gear boxes. main thing just make sure its synthetic
Subie Extra S fluid isn't synthetic... I recommend that over all others out there... Be it syn or dino
My 2¢
