I have an 07 WRX with a stock 5 speed manual transmission and I've used:

0-3k = Whatever fluid came in it from the factory
3k-30k = Redline 75W-90 NS
30k-60k = Redline 75W-90 NS
60k-83k (present) = Andrewtech Cocktail

I plan on using the Andrewtech Cocktail again when I change the trans fluid at 90k and every 30k after that for the forseeable future. I didn't really notice any specific differences between the fluids besides that the car shifted like butter immediately after it was changed. If the cocktail wasn't so expensive, I'd seriously consider changing the trans fluid every 20k or sooner instead of every 30k like it's suggested in the factory maintenance schedule.

FYI - The Andrewtech Cocktail is:
(1x) 1 Liter Motul Gear 300 75W-90
(3x) 1 Quart Redline Lightweight Shockproof Gear Oil 75W-140

Dealership will have the S stuff. You need to bring a container (they usually on sell it by the 5 gal drum).

With the andrewtech make sure you put the whole litre of Motul in first then top it off with the redline, it won't take all three quarts put two in then keep checking and after you test drive it top it off again and your good to go.

And Paul not all of the Dealerships carry the S stuff and most that do will only sell it to you by the 5 gal container.

From when I bought it (2008), the service mgr said something to the effect of "since that's all we are supposed to put in the cars now, we have to have it on hand".

Makes sense.... Bet these dealers are feeding ppl a line of BS if they say they don't have it. That or they have crappy customer service.

I'll take the latter of the 2.

I found my T-70 Torx bit on the shelf at a local auto parts store - can't remember which one (most likely Auto Zone, Advance Auto, or Pep Boys)
