Hmmmm well stock 07 LGT gearsets are pretty good from my understanding. Depends on your budget and hp goals. PPG's are the bees knees to people. I run stock 100+k mile '03 gears in my car...

!Laugh!!Laugh!!Laugh!!Laugh!!Laugh! Not at all. Take a look at what I'm running in my car. Granted not everyone is as lucky as me, but I know it is a matter of time before mine completely dies, and it will not be pretty.

Again what are your power goals? I can give you the best bang for the buck with that in mind.

I will say that Albins or PPGs are the route to go if you have the money to spend on them...

Well...the RA Gears and Mfactory gears (not their diffs) are the cheapest and will most likely fail unless its kept at a low whp. READ: which means keeping it dang near stock if you run those gear sets.

If they had made the STi in a wagon I would have.
Again I have heard the 07-up gear sets are suppose to be pretty strong. Mid 300's you'd be okay with that gear set.

LGT Gears that come on the WRXs start at 08. Actually....that might be the best bang for his buck. I keep forgetting they should work for even the older gens.

Didn't they start putting those in the 07 LGT's though?

Maybe, but I know the WRXs didn't get them until 08.

The only thing you'll need to do if you get a newer WRX trans is you'll need to get new front axles... They switched to male axles rather than female in 06 I believe.
