Why is that? Who said you had to get "race" gears? I just got off the phone with the guys that are going to be doing my transmission. They just got in a few of these:Par-Engineering - Gearsets (Subaru), 5SPD of course. Im going to be using them instead of the PPGs. Same thing supposedly, just a few hundred dollars cheaper.

well see I live in pittsburgh. and i usually do all my motor work and stuff myself. I dont know of any reputal garages that do work like i need. Plus i know that when u pay some1 to do something for you, its not like they do what you want them to do; as well as they would if they were doing it for them selves, or in my case, as well as if it was their car.
If you need your transmission redone, I work at Wholesale Transmission in lovely New Kensington, you get the gears and we can put it all together for you. I guarantee that I would build it like I would build my own.

im gonna stop in some time next week. So last question. With mods i have done to my car. cams, rods, valves, pistons, gaskets, turbo, ext... Driving the car as an everyday driver...Is the car going to last a good while? I mean i dont hammer on it all the time and i take care of it.
PPG or those new gears josh referred to. Don't have to be race gears....they're just stronger gears in the stock gear ratio. Race gears would be changing the ratio.
