Tranny and engine mounts

I am busily preparing my car for next year's track events, and I am wondering if there is any reason to upgrade my motor mounts, transmission mounts and dogbone. I'm running a strong stage two set-up with 100 no lead maps, and a larger TMIC on the way. I push the car very hard, and do feel some flex up there. Not sure if it's worth replacing stuff before I break it. Thanks for your experience.

I have the tranny and engine pitch stop mount and you could feel the difference. There is a little more NVH but you get used to it. It helped improve the shifting feel too. I say get them!

My turbo's fixed and a lot better =)

+1 with Ian. The mounts will help stiffen things up. As well it will help in reducing drivtrain loss... not much but still anything is good.... If you are doing that then I would also suggest the rear diff bushings and the rear outrigger bushings.

I recently became a WRX owner and have firmer engine/tranny mounts and dogbone to install. Any tips on the process for doing this -- or sites that detail what's involved? The dogbone looks like it's relatively easy from above; and the tranny mount looks reasonably easy. Not sure how tough the motor mounts are gonna be though....

question would replacing motor and trans mounts especially trans mounts place more stress on trans?? could this cause the tranny to fail sooner??

Your tranny would break if you beat the crap out of it with your stock mounts. Harder mounts might break things faster but it still all depends on how you drive. If your doing 5-6k launches and banging 2nd as hard as you can, it wont matter if you have stock mounts, Sti mounts, Cusco mounts, or the WRC mounts, something will break.

I would just get the STI Mounts for your WRX if you are not going to be breaking 300whp
