So I have had my wrx for two days and love the car so far other than the clutch chattering pretty bar in 1st and reverse. I have been told its normal with a stage 4 ceramic clutch? True or false? Btw the clutch is newer around 1200 miles on it. Also it had a brand new set of gears in the tranny ( stock ) and they all feel great but 1st keeps popping out. Suggestions?
I would ask the previous owner where it was built.
I know it wasn't your purchase, but a "stage 4" clutch is a surefire way to break a transmission. You want the weakest clutch that will hold your power ideally. You want the clutch to be the weak link in your drivetrain, else it will be your gears.
That's what I fear as well. I don't Know if its technically "stage 4" clutch but alot of other mods are. The clutch is a racing clutch. The car had straight cut gears in it and now it has a brand new stock gear set.
