shop having trouble replacing clutch

hey everybody, this is my first post and I wish it was more positive. my 03 wrx sedan is in the shop having the clutch replaced. this is the third excedy oem clutch they have ordered and apparently none of them have fit?! the guy working on it says every time he gets it back together and starts to bleed the clutch the throw out bearing wont engage like it is stuck. he says they have been the wrong clutch kits and everything looks to match up right except that one disc is smaller. I can understand it happening once but the third kit should be in Monday and this is getting crazy. just thought I'd throw this out there and get some thoughts from all of you. wish my first post could have been a little more fun but looking forward to hearing from you guys and glad to be part of the community. thanks!

waiting on him to reply to me with the part # he ordered but the only part # on the clutch they pulled off the car is a white label with black #s 737441. dunno if that means anything to you or helps. as soon as he gives me the part # they ordered I will post it. thanks man

hey sorry I'm at work and I guess I should have explained a little more in my last reply. the reason I ou the part # off the clutch they pulled out is because according to the mechanic the last 2 clutch kits they ordered were supposed to be oem replacements for a 02/03 wrx and by them not fitting that means the clutc that was in it had to be something different. he said the tranny in it is a stock wrx one so I guess I just don't understand how the clutches he ordered dont fit.

EXE KSB03
Thats the oem replacement part number

are there any numbers on the tranny to identify it? Perhaps it was a swap?

peepeesprinkles 06-08-2013 09:51 PM

so I just searched the part # that was on the installed clutch and it shows it being a fidanza three point two clutch for a 2001-04 mustang gt...wtf?? here's the link: Auto Part Number 737441 From Fidanza Engineering Corp. | StreetPerformance.com

still waiting on the part # off the clutch they just ordered and the tranny, everything else in this process has taken a long time so I don't expect this to be any different ha. thanks for the continued help tho guys, I really need it!

I doubt that's a Fidanza part number. I question there being a 3-puck Mustang clutch in there.
