Shifter Wobble

Im new to WRX first off. 2002 WRX wagon
My shifter wobbles even when in gear. I was told I needed a new shifter bushing. I get under the car and the bushing is fine. was is loose is that linkage? yok? u-joint. whatever you want to call it right above the support bar that the bushings on are.
I dont think this bushing has anything to do with keeping it sable.

what do I need to order/where can i find it. Having a hard time even finding it online.

I stole this picture from another site. its that linkage right above the bushing and that support arm. that bushing itself was fine. And my layout is a little different then this. I dont have that cable there. nor is that bushing a stand alone in mine. It is attached to the tranny. I assume is a transmission support bar.

mine is doing the same thing. the only thing i can think is that im missing the bushings that are highlighted in the picture in my link. do you have the bushings on your setup. the only other thing i could think to fix it was to put some plastic spacer washers where the shifter connects to the shift rod that comes inside the car

It was the shifter linkage. Turninconcepts.com has it for 80. Id get under there and have someone else wobble yours and see whats loose first.

Way back when, I installed the cobb shifter bushing kit which replaces both the bushing pictured and the one above it (at the end of the shift lever) Well worth the money. I believe Kartboy sells a set these days to tighten things up. Easy install, should come with instructions.
